Cara Reid, Media Consultant

Cara Reid, originally from North Carolina, is a recent transplant to Atlanta after graduating with her Masters of Fine Arts degree from Louisiana State University in Theatre with a specialization in Voice and Speech. Cara has spent most of her life being an advocate for the arts by training and teaching acting and presence workshops in New York, North Carolina, Dallas, Louisiana, and Atlanta. As an actor and a mentor, she knows how important it is to cultivate creativity and a foster a greater sense of awareness. By using the principles of acting, she trains her clients in vocal expression, physical presence, mental clarity, and mindfulness.

Her privilege as an artist and an educator is to assist in the creation of art that inspires emotion, empathy and social change. Just like an actor, a teacher’s job is never done, she will continue to strive for ways to enrich and embolden her clients to hone their skills as effective communicators, wholehearted listeners and purposeful artists. Martha Graham said that making art was “a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.” May we all be fortunate enough to experience that “blessed unrest.”

Some of her highlight teaching and coaching credits include: Voice and Speech Team Leader for the Willie Mae Rock Camp for girls in New York, Inner Voice at Get Scene Studios in Atlanta, Dialect Coach for film and television, and “Tweeting Shakespeare” for Swine Palace Equity Theatre.

Cara is the Resident Voice Coach and ongoing instructor at Get Scene Studios. She is a professional actor represented by Atlanta Models & Talent and a member of Actors Equity Association.
